Kew.

Paradise? So beautiful, we only had a few hours, could only explore just a little. Endless paths, beautiful Victorian glass houses, magic moments. We attempted the Treetop walk, an incredible circuit around the tops of a grove of ancient trees... you're higher than birds, on a fragile, swaying path that felt scarily insubstantial beneath your feet. I want to go back, I need to buy a season pass.

Hackney1000

Last weekend I was asked to photograph Hackney1000, an annual community fundraising event for Hackney Quest, a charity that aims to create better futures for some of Hackney's young people.

It was a delight, on a steaming hot day like no other this summer, with kids chasing down the miles to reach their aim of 1000 charity miles.  A band of the Olympic Opening Ceremony dancers jigged their way around the park, followed by swing dancing classes. Kids played table tennis and raced away on gym equipment.   BBQ tucker and a community cake stall fed hungry tummies and it was all beautifully set off by Candice's Stitch Kitchen bunting, lovingly made by volunteers to dress up the event.

Get involved next year!

glimpses from a weekend

A real treat.

Adam, the Brit, and probably the most intelligent man I know, drinking a craft beer at my local. He's gone back to NZ now of course. Till next time dear Adam and Liz, till next time.

Shoreditch street art

Never fails to surprise me. It's a playground out there and I love it.  Adam, Liz and I walked Brick Lane sniffing out vintage and watching a Stereolab instore at Rough Trade. It's good to be young.
