If Agia Napa is where the tourists flock, then Protaras, and Cape Greco (considered one of the most beautiful places on the island), is where Cypriots go. August is holiday month. Everything shuts down. I'm at the beach with Stella, her husband Nicolas and her baby boy, Angelo, the angel-faced child (below).

The day is again too hot for me. But, as the picture above hopefully shows, once late afternoon settles in and the light is changing, Jess-time begins. Tonight the cape looks like it's been touched with 1930's oil paint. Mauves and lavenders dress the shadows. Magic time.
