Live at the Coronet Theatre...

Ok, tonight we went to see Jon Brion play at a little theatre in mid city LA.  You may know him from the soundtracks he has composed for films such as Punchdrunk Love (one of my all time favourite films), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Magnolia... Incredible.  The man is a musical genius.  He would play the drums, record and then loop it, then play piano, harmonica, guitar, vibraphone and record and loop  those ... creating song brilliance with just one man on stage and a lot of instruments.  Anyway, his lineup included "special guests" ... so half way through the night someone so special arrived on stage.  It was.... (HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!)..... Gillian Welch and David Rawlings... followed closely by Sean Nelson.  Now, Gillian makes up one of the three corners in my golden country triangle, composing of Dolly, Emmylou and herself!!!!!!!!  It was tear inducing loveliness!!!!!!  I last saw her play to a sold out 3 tier show at the Civic on Queen street, some years ago.  (frustratingly, I couldn't take pictures at gig - ps, click on the links to take you through to videos/information).
